The Impossible CEO: Keeping Your Antivax Employees and the Government From Killing Each Other

CEO’s have been placed in an impossible situation - vaccinate, don’t vaccinate – the debate rages on. Pressure from vaccine resistance employees. Pressure from governmental mandates.

While CEO’s want to keep their employees safe and productive, many don’t feel comfortable enforcing a mandatory vaccination policy, or know whether such a policy is even necessary.

According to legislation, as a CEO you have the legal duty to:

> Ensure that a risk assessment is correctly conducted and documented;

> Develop an action plan based on the results of the assessment;

> Establish and maintain a documented system of medical surveillance;

> Keep related records and results of the risk assessment for a minimum period of 40 years; and

> So far as reasonably practicable, prevent and control exposure to Covid-19 in the workplace.

If you fail to comply you can be found guilty of an offence and liable to a fine or to imprisonment for up to 12 months.

What we've learned about employees like yours...

We have, with the aid of the Divock software, assisted numerous companies to conduct detailed risk assessments and safely get their employees back to work and focused on revenue generation activities.

During these assessments we’ve gained insights into what people’s objections or fears are - and there are a few things every CEO needs to know:

  • > Vaccine resistance is sometimes a cover story, employees simply use it as an excuse to continue working from home. Get them back to the office in a compliant manner.

  • > In some instances, the person responsible for executing the vaccination approach was themselves opposed to vaccinations. Stop biased delays and get the survey done and dusted.

  • > There is true fear and distrust regarding vaccinations and governmental mandates, but not of their organisation (yet). Take this opportunity to build trust and loyalty among staff.

  • > Employees want to be heard and they need to know that their companies are not just following government dictates, because in some cases they don’t trust the government.

  • > Employees were simply procrastinating, once completing the survey many went on to vaccinate without any prompting from the company.

This is a great OPPORTUNITY for CEO’s to understand their employees, and offer solutions that meet their needs, and the needs of the company.

Move your conversations from COVID fear and back to productivity and revenue generation. We’d love to share more insights from our numerous implementations.
